ESSAY-CONCLUSION

In a blink of an eye, my first semester is almost ended.

Thinking back of the past, when i was first being introduced by the courses especially Integrated Studio, i was always wondering.. I am taking Quantity Surveying but why i have to study like an architect, learning architectural writing and doing studio works and sketching. However, now i feel great of  doing so because these were all fresh and special memories for me who will never be exposed to this kind of things anymore.

For me, there were quite lot of changes and differences from the first project until the last. The very first project was done individually and to tell the truth, my drawing is seriously bad. However, i had put a lot of efforts in doing the things better(learning from my architecture friend). And soon, i myself could see some improvements in sketching and water coloring. I understand that for others who are good at drawing, my sketches are nothing but for me, i feel satisfied because i had always tried my best.

Until the last two projects only i realized that there is a very strong bond between the first year Quantity Surveying students. We as the four main dancers were dancing for the whole night without resting for the performance night. Yet the others were being there with us, giving us moral support and never leaving. Even though we didn't get the best performance award, i knew that we are always the best. The night we worked and cheered together, the feeling of touching, i will never forget!

Lastly, i would like to show my appreciation to my studio master, Prof Mastura who had given me an advice-do the thing that you can and make it the best. And also thanks a lot to all the Quantity Surveying members for giving me such a wonderful memory! We are the champion~

FOTOLOG-LANGKAWI TRIP

IT WAS A 3DAYS 2NIGTHS ACADEMIC TRIP TO LANGKAWI. ALL TOGETHER 200++ OF 1ST YEAR RUS104 STUDENTS WERE JOINING THIS TRIP. WE WENT BY BUS EARLY IN THE MORNING TO KUALA PERLIS TO TAKE  A FERRY TO LANGKAWI.

BEFORE CHECKING-IN OUR MOTEL, WE WENT TO DATARAN LANG. ALL OF US WERE REQUIRED TO SKETCH A MAN-MADE AND A NATURAL STRUCTURE. WE ACTED LIKE PROFESSIONAL ARTIST, SKETCHING UNDER THE HOT SUN AT THE STREET. TOURISTS WERE LOOKING AT US CURIOUSLY AND SOME EVEN TALKED AND TOOK PHOTOS WITH US! 

THESE ARE MY SKETCHES, ANYWAY, I CAN SEE SOME IMPROVEMENTS IN MY DRAWING AFTER 1 SEMESTER OF LEARNING.

 THE THING THAT WE SHOULDN'T MISS OUT FOR LANGKAWI TRIP IS ISLAND HOPPING ACTIVITY. WE VISITED A FEW ISLANDS BY BOAT. IT WAS DRIVE VERY QUICKLY AND WE COULD FEEL THE EXCITEMENT, SHOUTING ALL ALONG THE WAY AND RELIEVING OUR STRESS ! AND OF COURSE, WE WERE GIVEN A TIMEFRAME TO WALK AROUND THE ISLANDS AND TO TAKE PHOTOS.

WE ALSO VISITED THE ORIENTAL VILLAGE. MOST OF US TOOK THE OPPORTUNITY TO TAKE THE CABLE CAR. HERE IS A PHOTO OF ME ENJOYING THE NICE VIEW.

 IT WAS DEFINITELY AN ENJOYABLE AND MEMORABLE TRIP. WE GET TO KNOW OTHERS MORE. NOT ONLY THAT, THE SHARING SESSION WAS THE BEST FOR ME THROUGHOUT THE TRIP. WE SAT TOGETHER ACCORDING TO OUR COURSE AND EACH OF US WAS GIVEN CHANCE TO TALK, WHETHER TO INTRODUCE OURSELVES, GIVE OPINIONS OR SHARE ABOUT OUR EXPERIENCES AND FEELINGS. IN A NUTSHELL, I FEEL GREAT OF THIS TRIP!!

PROJECT8-PERFORMANCE AND AWARD NIGHT

IT WAS A VERY TOUCHING AND MEMORABLE NIGHT. WE AS THE FOUR MAIN DANCERS PRACTICED FOR THE WHOLE NIGHT(FROM 6PM TO 6AM) AND LEARNT FROM NOTHING TO SOMETHING. THE NIGHT WAS TERRIBLY TIRING AND WE COULDN'T COMPLAIN ANYTHING BECAUSE WE KNEW THAT IT WAS FOR EVERYONE'S BEST. AND OTHER DANCERS DIDN'T LEAVE US LIKE THAT BUT ACCOMPANIED US FOR THE WHOLE NIGHT. WHILE FOR THOSE COMMITTEES, SOME WERE HELPING OUT IN DANCING AND SOME WERE BEING OUR HELPER. I MYSELF COULD CLEARLY SEE A STRONG BOND BETWEEN QUANTITY SURVEYING STUDENTS. THESE ARE THE 1ST YEAR QUANTITY SURVEYING STUDENTS, WE ARE ALWAYS THE BEST !!

PROJECT7-EXHIBITION

THIS WAS THE 1ST TIME WE AS QUANTITY SURVEYING STUDENTS WORKED TOGETHER TO MAKE OUR EXHIBITION A SUCCESS. ALTHOUGH OUR BOOTH DIDN'T GET THE 1ST PRIZE, WE HAD LEARNT A LOT FROM IT. FOR EXAMPLE, WE TRIED OUR BEST TO COMPLETE OUR OWN WORK AND WHEN WE WERE FREE, WE TRIED TO HELP OUT OTHERS. THIS IS SO CALLED COOPERATION. WE ALSO WON THE 2ND PRIZE FOR OUR BANNER.

BELOW ARE MY SKETCHES THROUGHOUT THE 1ST SEMESTER..THERE ARE ARCHITECTURAL WRITING, SKETCHING AND WATER COLORING.

PROJECT6A-DESIGN AMPHITHEATRE STAGE

THIS IS THE 1ST AND ONLY PROJECT THAT ALL OF US FROM 6 DIFFERENT MAJORS WORKING TOGETHER TO DESIGN AND COME OUT WITH A PHYSICAL SCALE MODEL AT THE END BESIDES MAKING A REPORT. HOWEVER, THE ROLE OF ARCHITECTS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT BECAUSE EVERYTHING CAN ONLY BE DONE AFTER THEIR DESIGN. FURTHERMORE, ME AS A QUANTITY SURVEYOR HAVE NOT DONE ANY COSTING SO FAR YET HELPING IN THE REPORT WRITING. FEELING GLAD TO BE IN THIS GROUP BECAUSE OUR ARCHITECTURE STUDENTS ARE TALENTED.

 5A-OUR SITE CHOSEN IS SUNWAY BUKIT GAMBIER WHICH IS JUST BESIDE THE RST HOSTEL. IT IS QUITE COMPLEX BECAUSE OF A LOT OF HOUSES THERE.

5B-ACTUALLY THIS SITE IS QUITE SATISFYING IN TERMS OF SAFETY. ANYWAY, SOME IMPROVEMENTS STILL CAN BE DONE TO ENHANCE IT.
